ENFP Motivations

When people are energized, driven, and focused, it can usually be attributed to energy-driving behaviors. Therefore, it’s important to know what kinds of activities motivate each personality type.

Myers-Briggs ENFP Motivations

ENFP personality types tend to be motivated and energized by...

  • Discussing new, creative ideas with others
  • Connecting emotionally with those around them
  • Participating in unique experiences
  • Dreaming about an exciting future
  • Feeling heard and understood by people

ENFPs are energized by new, exciting ideas. They love getting to talk through their thoughts with others to bounce ideas around a bit. Working alongside other energetic, enthusiastic creatives tends to help ENFPs thrive.

They enjoy getting to build relationships with others. ENFPs are very people-oriented, which means they tend to feel most energized when they’re around friends, family, coworkers, or even strangers. Having the chance to meet and connect with new people tends to regularly excite ENFPs.

ENFPs love being able to try new things. Their draw toward unknown, unique experiences tends to make them more comfortable with risk and change than most people. They are likely to step out of their comfort zone on a regular basis to grow and expand their horizons.

They tend to feel energized by internal excitement for the future. Their optimism keeps them moving steadily forward and though they don’t tend to plan too far ahead, most ENFPs are confident that the future will bring good things.

ENFPs feel motivated when they’re heard and understood by others. When their friends, family, and coworkers take the time to hear them out and engage in discussion, ENFPs are likely to feel like their presence and ideas are welcomed and appreciated.

When ENFPs are able to engage in energizing tasks, they’ll feel happier and more productive. They’ll be able to put their abilities to good use and enjoy the work they’re doing, which will likely improve their overall engagement in a work environment.
